Organisers and sponsors of the town’s Hospitality and Tourism Awards have been overwhelmed by the response to the 2017 awards launch with tickets for the event selling out in a record 72 hours!

Within days of the shortlist being announced tickets in last week’s Harrogate Advertiser and online, all tickets for the event at the Royal Hall on Monday, June 5 2017 have sold out completely.

Awards Organisers David Ritson and Simon Cotton from Destination Harrogate both agreed, “Over 1000 nominations were received last year and we have been astounded by the support again this year with over 1500 responses. This just shows how dominant the hospitality and tourism sector is in our local economy and just how passionate those who work in it are”.

“The Royal Hall is an amazing venue and with the support of our great sponsors and ambassadors like Sir Gary Verity we are really excited about this year’s event.

"This is our ninth year and each time we are so grateful for the support and enthusiasm shown by our colleagues in the industry.

"The awards recognise and reward those colleagues who prove to be the crème de la crème in their field and everyone nominated and shortlisted is a winner in our eyes.”

“As a result of this amazing response we are now operating a wait list for tickets.

"We apologise to anyone now disappointed by not being able to attend and promise that we will make every effort to accommodate as many people as physically possible!”

A call goes out to those that have booked tickets but are yet to pay as any unpaid tickets will be released back for general sale to the waitlist. Those interested in registering for the waitlist should call Simon Cotton on 01423 858585.
