Members of the winning CNG team celebrate their win at the 2013 Harrogate Advertiser Series Business Awards.

Members of the winning CNG team celebrate their win at the 2013 Harrogate Advertiser Series Business Awards.

Tickets for the Harrogate Advertiser Series Business Awards dinner are selling fast and a sell-out evening is expected, say organisers.

There is usually a rush for the last tickets just before the event, and this year is no exception as the big night looms less than two weeks away.

More than 40 businesses and individuals made it onto the shortlists, which include the best entrants in 10 categories, and finalists range from dog walkers to reindeer farmers, and from marketing companies to manufacturers.

One hopeful is Lisette Meadows, accounts senior at CCF Accountancy in Harrogate. She was nominated by her boss, Teresa Bowe, because of her work introducing much-needed systems to the fast-growing business.

“I’m amazed that I’ve been shortlisted – I didn’t even know I’d been put forward!” she said.

“It would be a great confidence booster to win, but whether I get it or not, I’m really looking forward to a great night.”

The awards recognise businesses and individuals right across the circulation areas of the Harrogate Advertiser series – an area stretching from Masham in the north to South Milford, east of Leeds, in the south, and from upper Nidderdale in the west to the flatlands of the Vale of York in the east.

Series editor Jean MacQuarrie said: “The awards dinner is obviously a great opportunity to celebrate some very worthy winners, but it’s also a fantastic opportunity for the best businesses across every sector to meet each other. I look forward to seeing them all there on the night.”

The winners will be revealed on Wednesday, May 21 at a black-tie dinner held at the Harrogate International Centre – an event that has become the highlight of the Harrogate and district business community’s social calendar.

l A limited number of tickets for the Harrogate Advertiser Series Business Awards dinner are available by calling Ginny Long on 01423 707402.
