THERE was double cause for celebration at a firm of solicitors which has offices in Ripon, Bedale and Thirsk.
Eccles Heddon completed its switch to Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) status on February 1, and at the same time welcomed Nick White as a partner at the Ripon office on Westgate.
The firm, which will now be known as Eccles Heddon LLP, opened in Ripon as Heddon & Brayshay in 1937, and the changes mark the first steps towards planned growth and development.
Nick has been with Eccles Heddon since September 2005, initially as a trainee and then as a fully qualified solicitor specialising primarily in the area of commercial property, but also dealing with business sales and purchases and acting for local residential property developers.
He said: “After six fantastic years at the Ripon office, during which time I feel that both the firm and I have continued to progress and achieve positive things together, I am very pleased to have accepted an offer from the existing partners to come on board and become part of what I believe are exciting times for the firm.
“The switch to LLP status is only the first of a number of targets we have been working towards and I look forward to helping the firm to grow and develop in what is a changing and challenging legal market.
“We celebrate our 75th anniversary this year and we hope that it is this tradition and long-standing presence in the marketplace that will offer assurance to both existing and new clients of our ability to meet their needs and expectations.”
Partner Martyn Clarke added: “The change to LLP status is indicative of our forward thinking approach, while building on our traditional strengths. We have a wide range and depth of expertise in the firm. Nick’s pro-active and friendly approach has proved very popular with our clients and we are delighted to welcome him on board as a partner.”
