The owner of a pottery shop, cafe and art studio is celebrating the success of her first year in business.

Suzie Poole took over Pots2Go on May 23 last year, when the shop’s founder, Margaret Brennan decided to pursue a different business path.

The shop, on Montpellier Parade in Harrogate, offers sessions in pottery making for both adults and children, and also hosts children’s parties. It was founded eight years ago, and Suzie worked with Maragaret for four years before taking over the business. She has since focused on broadening the range of bisque (unpainted) pottery, introducing new handmade gifts and serving drinks.

“I’m thrilled by how well me and my little team have done,” said Suzie. “Some people would think me foolish taking on a business at a time of economic uncertainty but, having worked alongside Margaret and with a background in retail management and a business administration degree, I felt well equipped to develop the brand.”
