THE long-standing chief executive of Bettys and Taylors has announced his retirement.
For 36 years, Jonathan Wild has been with the company founded by his great uncle, Frederick Belmont, in 1919. He trained in every position before becoming managing director in 1986 and chief executive in 1996.
His successor will be Andrew Baker, the former CEO of Duchy Originals who has held director roles with other large companies and established his own food marketing business in France.
Bettys and Taylors chairman Lesley Wild said: “Over the last 36 years, Jonathan’s vision and passion have developed the business into a well-known and much loved institution – both in Yorkshire and further afield.
“He leaves behind a values-driven business where people and planet matter just as much as the bottom line.”
