Agency toasts birthday with raft of new accounts

APPEAL PR is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a raft of new client work including five account wins in as many weeks.

The five-strong team of staff based at Montpellier Street, Harrogate, saw turnover top 360,000 despite the tough economic climate and has continued to invest in new staff and online PR capability and expertise.

In July and August, they have won new projects worth over 100,000 for five new clients including JCT600.

Appeal has been retained by the Yorkshire-based car retailer to negotiate and manage its sponsorship of two Atlantic rowers, Team JCT600, who will tackle an epic 3,000 mile ocean rowing race in December of this year as well as assisting with the company’s corporate media relations work.

“There is a confidence in the market again that is great to see after the past 12 months of turmoil, and the toughest economy I have seen since we launched in 1999,” commented Appeal founder Paul Snape.

“There are a great many good Yorkshire businesses wanting to carefully target the media with positive stories about what they are doing, both in print and increasingly online.”

The firm has also been investing in online and social media PR over the past 12 months in line with the growth of the digital PR sector. It is working with its clients to develop blogging strategies and establishing online reputation campaigns using social media such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

“Blogger relations and online profile have become increasingly important over the past few years, and our lead on some of the more common-sense ways to use the internet to boost profile is now paying dividends.

“We are establishing and running blogs and viral campaigns for a number of existing and new clients,” he added.

The firm anticipates a 20 per cent increase in turnover and additional recruitment in the coming year.
