School News: Bishop Thornton CE Primary School on a Monday from 3.15-4pm is running a Lets Get Cooking Club by Mrs Ward. Mrs Gains will be running a Board Games Club and has asked the children to bring in any board game they particularly enjoy. The children are collecting a variety of materials for their Art /DT sculpture project. Also the children are taking part in the Nidderdale Cross Country Run on Thursday, October 3, good luck to them all.
The Samaritans Purse: Bishop Thornton CE Primary School children been given a box to fill with gifts by November 5 to go abroad ready for Christmas.

PE Premium: St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School like other schools has been allotted additional funding to improve provision of school sport and teaching of PE. Each class is enjoying Mr Charles Adams additional PE teacher and PE specialist who will be working with both classes throughout the year. Feedback form the children has been very positive!
Celebration Assembly: each Friday St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School has been celebrating the childrens’ achievements during the week, with awarding the weekly certificates and stickers .Parents and families are welcome to join this special assembly which begin at 2.30pm
Walking or Bike Rides: if you enjoy a bike ride on the new cycle way at Ripley or may be a walk through the wood and like helping charities, then why not go into the All Saints Cafe in the church at Ripley, which is open from 11am every Wednesday, after your walk or bike ride and have a nice drink etc. A good way to support a charity and give you a well earned rest too.
