Cricket: Bishop Thornton 1st team play at home to Bubberhouses on July 6, 2nd team away to Glasshouses. Evening league July 10 Spofforth at home ground. Supporter always welcomes.

Quiz Night: Bishop Thornton CE Parents and Teacher Association are holding a quiz night at the Chequers Inn Bishop Thornton this month, date to follow. Do keep looking for a time and date as they need your support at these events. In August there also to be a car treasure hunt .

School News: Bishop Thornton CE Primary School Class 1 children are taking part in the tennis festival at Ripon Tennis Club this month. Key Stage 2 are taking part in the Kwik Cricket tournament at Markington with the juniors from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.

Sports Day: all Bishop Thornton CE Primary School children will be joining Birstwith Primary School for sports day. Children will be wearing coloured t-shirts to match the teams they will be taking part in on the afternoon.

Leaving Service: Thursday, July 18 2.45pm for Bishop Thornton CE Primary School, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School on July 19 at 9.30am.

New Starters: on July 12 9am 3-15pm at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.

Charity Festival: why not go along to Pateley Bridge Show Ground on Sunday, July 21 from 12-4pm find out about the charity work that goes on in Nidderdale and celebrate the contribution made by the volunteers. The will be over 40 stalls, a barbecue, live music provided by Reeth Brass Band and St Cuthbert’s School and entertainment for all the family. Explore the variety of stalls including tombola, cakes (these sell very quickly) crafts, book stall for those who like a good read, bouncy castle and face painting for children.
