Transport: the Little Red Bus is running a Dial and Ride Service on Friday morning in to Harrogate. Starting from the Upper Nidderdale through Burnt Yates, New Inn, Shaw Mills and Bishop Thornton into Harrogate. To receive this services you need to become a member of the Little Red Bus there is a cost per journey and a concession pass is £7 single or £3.50 concessionary pass form Shaw Mills and Bishop Thornton. Cricket: Bishop Thornton first XI April 27 away to Darley second XI away to Raskelf second XI in the Nidderdale League, they would welcome any supporter at these matches for both away and when they are at the home ground.

Garden Club; Warsill Gardening Club on Saturday, April 27 is a visit to Littlethorep Manor by popular request to view the spring garden. Meet at 10.30am for the guided tour, £8. Please note there will be no refreshments available but you arewelcome to bring your own.

School News: Bishop Thornton Primary School are delighted that they raised £78 for Red Nose Day. Their Bags4School will be 9am Tuesday, April 23, this is another brilliant fund raising event for the school, and they very much appreciate everyone supporting these events. St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School have raised so far for Caford Sponsored Red £276.27 this took place on World Book Day.Thank you this was a fantastic achievement –well done!

Lent Fair: raised £138.45 for the work of Father Augustine in Ghana, which was this year St Joseph’s Lenten Project. It was great to see our friends from Bishop Thornton Primary CE School.

100 Club: Mr Christopher Baines from Bishop Thornton was the lucky winner with number 66. The next draws will take place in June, September and December. Thank you for everyone who has joined St Joseph’s School 100 club. The 100 club membership income for 2013 less prize money, will rise a total of £1,120 for St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School this year. The proceeds will be used by the governors to fund building and improvement works at the school.

The Knights of St Columba: following the submission of the juniors artwork from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in the Knights of St Columba Nativity Card competition the children received a visit from Area Grand Knight. Charlotte was placed area winner in the Year 8 to Year 11 group and her entry was submitted to the national round where it was placed runner up. Congratulations to Charlotte who was presented with two certificates from the Grand Knight.

Ocean World: the falling snow and weather forecast also also forced the postponement for the children performance from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School. Thankfully all the hard work has not been wasted as the Rotary Club have managed to reorganise the performance for Friday, April 19. Ticket already bought remain valid for the new date but please ring Mrs Housman at school if you cannot make the performance and would like a refund.
