Building Works: all the building work to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School was completed in January by Fullwods They now have new toilets for the pupils and are looking forward to planning a new early years outdoor area. The temporary class rooms were also removed

School News: Bishop Thornton CE Primary School thanks all the families who supported the children by buying and selling the booklets they created from their environmental poems. They have raised £43.50 so far and are in the process of choosing a green charity to send it to.

Notices board: outside Bishop Thornton Primary School Class one on their noticesboard for details of a family choir starting up as well as an imagination workshop.

Assembly: on Friday, February 8 at 9.30am Bishop Thornton Primary School will be holding a celebration assembly in St John’s CE Church.

100 Club: St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School would like to thank everyone who has renewed their membership to the 100 club. There are four draws over the year with a prize of £100 and the number is yours for just £20. The first draw for 2013 takes place in March so please sign up as soon as possible in February. The funds raised will go towards paying for further building works at the school

Music: Miss Waddington at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School continues through the School Music Services to deliver the wider opportunities programme for music with the juniors. Some of the children continue to learn to play the guitar and keyboard.

Ash Wednesday: the children from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School will be celebrating Ash Wednesday Mass with the parish at St Joseph’s Catholic Church at 9.30am on Wednesday, February 13.
