Thank You: I would like to thank everybody who has supported this column throughout 2012 and hope they will continue to do so in 2013, also I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Church Service: St Joseph’s Catholic Church Bishop Thornton Saturday 6pm Vigil Mass, Sunday Mass 10am where they will be using a new order of mass cards, Weekday Masses 9.30am. If you need to contact Fr Cummins telephone 01423 770036.

Domino Evening: Warsill Parish Hall 7.30pn January 5.

Shopping Evening: a massive thank you from Bishop Thornton CE Primary School to parents and friends who were involved in the planning and running of the Christmas Shopping Evening. A wonderful total over £300 was raised, and it proved to be a very happy occasions. Well done to the children who raised £97 with their Let’s Get Cooking stall.

Angles: the Children from Bishop Thornton Primary School enjoyed seeing the angels they made in Ripley Church where they all attended a short Christmas Service.

Hosanna Rock: children from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School’s performance of Hosanna Rock is at St John’s Fisher High School in Harrogate.

Christmas Fair: St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School would like to thank everyone who supported this Christmas Fair, with doing some baking, or serving teas, donating items or spending money. A total of £915.23 was raised, an increase of £170 on last year. This was an excellent social event as well as a fundraiser and it’s great to see so many people from the community. £457.66p has been given to the church and a similar amount to the school.

Presentation: a presentation was made to Mrs Lambet by Mrs Jorden, chair of the governors of the school, for her hard work over 20 years to help and ensure that all the children at the school achieved and developed as much as possible.

100 Club: there have been four winners in 2012 in the 100 Club at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School - Mrs Walker, Mr Bell, Mr Gaffney and Mrs Jackson.Thank you to everyone who has supported this club .Over £1,200 has been raised to go towards the building fund. If you wish to join there are membership forms in the church porch or from then school.
