Request Bus Services: there is a bus service by request on a Thursday morning from Upper Nidderdale villages to get to Ripon. The same services runs from Upper Nidderdale on a Friday morning to Harrogate, travelling via Burt Yates and Shaw Mills. If you request this services all need to do is ring The Little Red Bus on 01423 526655 to book your place, preferably 24 hours in advances. Cost of this bus services is only £14 or £7 for concessions. Please use the service to ensure it’s continuation. School News:Year 6 children from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Bishop Thornton spent a day at Ripon Leisure Centre for their Transitions Day, they made new friend who going on to their Secondary school in September

Building Update: the governing body from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School presented a bid to the Diocese of Leeds for further work at the school to complete the items omitted from their original bid. They have been successful in receiving further funding of £53,045 and are hoping this amount will complete as much work as possible This is a voluntary aided school and they are required to raise 10 per cent towards the capital projects and therefore will need to raise £5,305 towards this work. It must be completed before the end on March 2014 and the governors have asked for the work to be carried out before September 2013. The work to be carried out is an early years play area, a pedestrian ramp and planting to front of the school, a footpath alongside the school to rear field, a shower in the hygiene suite, the extension of fire alarm system to whole school, a doorway widening and replacement of sub mains .Thank you to the families who have already made a voluntary contribution to the total of £94.

Bishop Thornton CE School: Key Stage: joined with Birstwith Primary School on a visit to Eden Camp for their Second World War studies. Years 2,3 and 4 children are taking part in the tennis festival at Ripon Tennis Club.
