GREAT things are happening for a fantastic farm business in Collingham.

Wharfe Valley Farms has been supplying cold-pressed rape seed oil to Yorkshire supermarkets and farm shops for six years.

The quality of their stuff - and some very swish bottle design - is one of the reasons rape seed oil has moved from a little-known product to a gourmet commodity that can rival olive oil.

Now the farm’s newsest range - its Yorkshire’s Original salad dressing - is set to be stocked by 40 Tesco stores in the region.

We’ve tried the whole range, and it’s very good. Tesco - which currently shifts 300 bottles of the farm’s oil each week across its Yorkshire stores - will be stocking the chilli and spiced orange dressing and the summer herb dressing.

Wharfe Valley Farms, meanwhile, now produces 2,000 litres a week and has just taken on four new staff.

In case you don’t know where the farm is, here it is on a map.
