The first Bilton Flower Show will take place on Saturday, August 24.
The event, organised by the committee of Bilton Community Centre, hopes to attract gardeners from across the district.
Chairman Barry Jeffrey said: “The main difference between ours and other local shows is that whilst the others are primarily aimed at the allotment fraternity, we are also aiming at the man and woman in the street who perhaps have a greenhouse (or just a window sill) and are keen in gardening, to enter too.
“This promotes our aim of reaching out to the community, both local and the wider Harrogate district.”
The show will also have a barbeque and refreshments on offer.
The Harrogate and District Allotment Federation has been involved in the organisation of the show.
The show will be open to the public from 11am-3pm.
Classes include vegetables and fruit, flowers, pot plants, cakes and pastries, home made jam and there will also be classes for children up to the age of 11.
