editorial image

The Engine Shed in Wetherby has announced a series of special events this year.

Reopened last year, the venue is already well know for its dance classes.

It’s future had looked at risk as commercial developers wanted to turn the Grade II listed building into offices or even a casino, but two couples, director Alex Hogg and partner Kay and Ricky and Sally Barton, were determined to restore the venue to its former glory.

The Engine Shed’s programme of special events will includeTroggs, the iconic rock band from the Sixties with hits like Wild Thing who will playing on Saturday, February 23.

The famous band’s other big hits include Love Is All Around, Can’t Control Myself, Night of the Long Grass abd With A Girl Like You.

Led by the charismatic Reg Presley before a serious illness forced his recent retirement, Chris, Pete and Dave now tour with an equally experienced frontman with a great pedigree, Chris Allen , formerly of the Denny Laine Band.

There will also be a Comedy Night on Friday, March 15 and The Jive Aces, who found fame recently on Britain’s Got Talent, will play on Saturday, March 30.
