Students at Nidderdale High School are almost ready for curtain up on a new play which could see them performing at the National Theatre in London.

The students have been rehearsing “Allie and the Alien” since November, as part of the National Connection Festival. The play will be performed on of February 14-15 at Nidderdale High School.

National Connectionsfor new writing and youth theatre, which see new plays commissioned by the National Theatre and performed by young actors across the UK.

One of Nidderdale High’s performances will be watched by a National Connections Company Director, who will help the group in transferring their performance to the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, where they will perform the play on the April 16.

The Nidderdale High School pupils may also get the chance to perform at the prestigious National Theatre in London, in the summer of 2013.

Tickets are now on sale from the school library for all three performances, at a cost of £3 per ticket. Tickets and transport to the Scarborough performance will be arranged after the Nidderdale performances take place.
