Dark but gorgeously shot thriller full of twists and turns from director Martin Scorsese adapted from the novel by Dennis Lehane of Mystic River and Gone Baby Gone fame. Leonardo DiCaprio gives a complex performance as a tough Federal Marshal called out to a remote psychiatric ward off the New England shore where dangerous maniacs are subjected to unique "treatments" by the sinister Dr Cawley (Ben Kingsley) and his loyal staff of nurses and heavily armed corrections officers. Also starring Mark Ruffalo, Michelle Williams and Max Von Sydow.
