Pancakes will be flying when Ripon stages its traditional Shrove Tuesday races next week.

Racers will be setting off from the cathedral at 11am on Tuesday, February 21, and running along Kirkgate with their pancakes – this year decorated in red, white and blue to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Pupils from every school in Ripon will be taking part and local businesses – many of whom have sponsored the event – have entered teams, while soldiers from 21 Engineer Regiment will be cooking up the pancakes

l To field a team at the pancake races, email don@delionduckhill.co.uk for an entry form.
