Harrogate Theatre unveils world-class season
HARROGATE Theatre has announced details of their new season of shows which covers performances from September right through to February 2011.
Following the recent announcement of the theatre's most successful year to date with record audience numbers, increased access provision and acknowledgement at the Harrogate Hospitality & Tourism Awards, the new season continues to offer a diverse programme of work featuring world-class comedy, compelling drama, family fun and much more.
During the new season, the theatre will be co-producing work with some of the country's leading theatre companies, including The House of Bilquis Bibi with Tamasha , A Blood Wedding in Wensleydale with North Country Theatre, Hamlet with Icarus Theatre and Private Lives with Oldham Coliseum

The truly traditional pantomime returns with Dick Whittington
The classic children's book Guess How Much I Love You is brought to life by David Wood OBE
English Touring Opera make their Harrogate Theatre debut with a rare revival of the classic English opera The Duenna

Comedy
The Harrogate Comedy Festival returns for its second year and will see over 40 comedians perform in just 15 days, showcasing the widest possible mix of established names alongside emerging talent.
This year there will be some exclusive events which mark Harrogate Comedy Festival as a rising fixture including The Early Edition which will see Marcus Brigstocke and Andre Vincent (alongside very special guests Carrie Quinlan and Chris Addison) take a satirical look at current affairs via the Sunday newspapers.
Other highlights include Stewart Lee (Thursday, October 7 ), Shappi Khorsandi & Jon Richardson (Friday, October 15), Sarah Millican (Monday, October 18), Jeremy Hardy (Tuesday, October 19), Ardal O'Hanlon (Friday, October 22), Arthur Smith (Thursday, October 21), Isy Suttie (Tuesday, October 19) and Josie Long (Tuesday, October 12).
The Hyena Comedy Club will also continue each month with headliners including Reginald D Hunter (Oct), Tom Wrigglesworth (Jan) and Craig Campbell (Mar).

Reform Theatre Company make two appearances this season with John Godber’s classic comedy September in the Rain (Tuesday-Saturday, September 7-11) and Mark Whiteley’s highly acclaimed black comedy Thick as Thieves (Tuesday, September – Saturday, October 2).
Likely Lad Rodney Bewes makes a welcome return with his one-man adaptation of Jerome K Jerome’s Three Men in a Boat (Tuesday, September 21).
Gonzo Moose present their Monty Python-esque gothic horror spoof Is That A Bolt In Your Neck? (Thursday, September 23).
Award-winning actor James Hylands brings his highly acclaimed one-man show A Christmas Carol – As told by Jacob Marley (deceased) (Monday-Thursday, December 13-23).

The exhilarating raw energy of the Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers (Wednesday, September 22) will shake the foundations of Harrogate Theatre once again.
Harrogate Theatre’s Fundraising Committee proves that Harrogate’s got talent in The Big T 2010 (Saturday, Sept 25).
Jake and Elwood take to the stage to perform classic Blues Brothers hits in The Definitive Blues Brothers Concert (Monday, October 4).
Kings of musical cabaret, Kit & The Widow (Tuesday, October 5) present a collection of their newest songs along with a few old favourites.
The Nick Ross Orchestra brings the Big Band sound of the 1940s to life with Sounds of the Glenn Miller Era (Thursday, February 17).

The world renowned Rudolf Nureyev Russian State Ballet Academy present the classic ballet, Swan Lake (Friday October 8).
