D'Nile set to take Royal Hall by storm

ONE of Harrogate's most popular rock bands are to play the Royal Hall next week for the third year running.

D'Nile were the first rock band to play the venue after its glittering 11m transformation in 2008.

This time they will be supported by Plastic Rose, a band coming from Belfast to play the show in a gig-swap arrangement which will see D'Nile travelling back across the water at a later date.

D'Nile lead singer Liam Gray said: "It's amazing to be able to nearly sell out venues such as the Royal Hall, it gives you a great buzz going on stage in such a lovely place!"

D'Nile, who also include lead guitarist Steve Mosby, bassist Andy Mosby, rhythm guitarist Jason Baldwin and drummer Andy Kearns, are looking forward to renewing the acquaintance they struck up with their support act last summer.

Said Gray: "We met up with them because we were both playing at Leeds and Reading festivals last year.

"We're looking forward to flying back out to Ireland to support them in the near future, too."

After the Royal Hall gig the band will head back to the studio to finish the recording of the second album. D'Nile will be showcasing the new material at the show on Friday.
