College puts on a technicolour show
Elle Kay-Coles in the title role of Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Who needs Jason Donovan and Lee Mead? Music, dance and magic enough to rival any West End musical were brought to the stage at Harrogate Ladies’ College last week in their dazzling production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
It was the first time that a show has been performed in the school’s new purpose-built hall which opened at the end of 2012.
Heather Kirk and Lydia Bradd starred as the charismatic narrators who seamlessly held the show together. Elle Kay-Coles in the title role of Joseph showcased her incredible voice, and Soroj Spikett and Lexie Murray’s comic timing also deserves special mention.
The show was directed by the school’s Head of Drama, Michael Cook, and musical direction was provided by Kate Morgan, Head of Music. Mr Cook said: “A huge thanks must go to everyone involved with this incredible performance and who worked so hard to make it such a resounding success.”
