Rock Up and Sing! is now heading for its fourth birthday and, with over 400 members it’s no surprise that they are often asked to perform for charity.

Members of this community-based, popular group of choirs are delighted to be performing at the Royal Hall Harrogate on Sunday, March 24 for Harrogate based charity, British Thyroid Foundation.

Over the last four years, Rock Up and Sing’s founder and musical director Rhiannon Gayle and her choirs have chalked up some amazing experiences.

These have included recording at Abbey Road Studios, and being involved with Welcome to Yorkshire’s Yorkshire Anthem project. Most recently, they performid at the Tour de France Celebration Evening at Leeds Town Hall in January 2013.

The concert for the British Thyroid Foundation is part of the charity’s 21st birthday celebrations.

Other forthcoming diary dates for RU&S choirs include performing in Choirs Rock, a major charity-supporting competition in Leeds on March 3, with a celebrity judging panel.

They will also be defending their shield won at last year’s Harrogate Competitive Festival of Music, Speech & Drama in March.

Tickets for the British Thyroid Foundation concert at the Royal Hall are available from.harrogatetheatre.co.uk or phone 01423 502116.
