Three people were taken to hospital after two cars collided at Devonshire Place.

Fire crews attended the collision at 10:30 on Wednesday morning after it was reported that people were trapped in their vehicles and fuel was leaking.

One male, who is believed to have suffered lower back and spinal injuries needed to be cut from the first vehicle while paramedics assisted a female from the same car.

Paramedics and fire crews released a female from a second car, she is also believed to have sustained spinal injuries.

Police attended the accident and all three casualties were taken to hospital by ambulances.
