Poppy Appeal: the results of this year’s poppy appeal collection are now in and a total of £174.83 was raised in Scotton. The collectors Celia Wooley and Karen Wyldbore are “thrilled with the result” (£19 up on last year) and would like to express their appreciation for the support of everyone in the village.

Christmas Diary Dates: Scotton Lingerfield Primary School Nativity Play will take place in the Methodist Chapel on Wednesday, December 19 and the headteacher extends a warm invitation to everyone to join children, staff and parents. Children, staff and parents of the Primary School will also be leading carol singing round the streets of Scotton in aid of the Village Hall Raise the Roof Appeal on the evening of Friday, December 21. Also on Friday, December 21 at 7pm in St Thomas Church there will be a service of lessons and carols with the Benefice Choir.

Church Services: for Sunday, December 16, Third Sunday of Advent, 8.30am Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer) at St Thomas Church and 10.00 am at the Methodist Church.
