Church Services: for Sunday, March 10 St Robert’s Pannal 8am Holy Communion, 9.30am Family Service (no Junior Church), 6pm Evensong.

Church concert: as part of the current stewardship programme at St Robert’s, a concert is taking place at the church on Friday, March 8 at 7pm. This will be an extremely varied evening with all the musical and other items being provided by members of the church. You’ll hear both children and adults performing a range of vocal and instrumental music – solos, duets and larger groups. Refreshments will be served at the interval when you will also be able to view the various displays around church. There is no charge for the concert so just turn up on the night. There will also be an opportunity to buy a copy of Pannal Praise (the debut CD recording from St Robert’s Church Choir) for £10 with all profits going to church funds.

Busy Bees Jumble Sale: don’t forget to visit the Busy Bees jumble sale this weekend. It is at Pannal Memorial Hall on Saturday, March 9 from 1-3pm. If you wish to donate any good quality jumble please drop it off between 9-11am on the morning of the sale. Please come along and support your local pre-school.

Cheese and Wine evening: Pannal Village Society is hosting a cheese and wine evening with speaker on Saturday, March 23. The event takes place at the village hall at 7.30pm and will cost £5 on the door. The speaker is the new Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire, Julia Mulligan so it should be an interesting evening hearing about her plans for policing in the local area.

Pannal WI: meets on March 12 at 7.30pm at Pannal Memorial Hall. This month’s meeting has a talk by Tanya Umpleby entitled Cooking is Fun.

Pram Service: takes place on Monday, March 11 at St Robert’s Church at 2pm. Do come along and bring your pre-school children for a fun and relaxed way to introduce them to church.

Happy Mothers Day: to all you local mums out there. Hope you are being thoroughly pampered and not lifting a finger this Sunday!

News and events: please do get in touch if you have an event or something that you would like me to mention in the column.
