WI: at the monthly meeting next Tuesday the guest speaker will be Anne Thompson whose topic will be Queen Victoria the artist. The competition is for a souvenir of Queen Victoria’s reign. This meeting will be held in Green Hammerton village hall commencing at 7.30pm.

The Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association: have invited Jessica Ulrich to talk about Hotter Shoes at their next meeting on March 18 in the village hall commencing at 1.45pm.

The Gardening Club: have another interesting speaker lined up for their next meeting on March 26 at 7.30pm in the village hall. It is Ian Hill who will be talking about Growing Dahlias Non members are always welcome to the meeting for a fee of £3 which includes tea and biscuits. In order to boost the restoration appeal for the village hall two local organisations have arranged functions to raise funds on their behalf.
On Saturday March 23: rmembers of Kirk and Green Hammerton WI are holding a coffee morning in the village hall from 10am-noon. An entry fee of £1.50 will include tea/coffee and homemade biscuits. There will also be a raffle and cake stall.

St John’s House Care Home: are organising a whist drive on Friday, April 5 home in the village hall at 7pm. An entry fee of £1 will include refreshments and there will be a raffle.
