Queen Mother: the speaker at Harrogate Women’s Luncheon Club on Monday, March 4 will be Jean Townsend who will use slides to illustrate her talk on The Real Queen Mother. Coffee Concert: the Harrogate International Festivals’ next coffee concert at the Old Swan Hotel, Swan Road is at 11am on Sunday, March 3 and features cellist Adrian Brendell with pianist Alasdair Beatson as accompanist. The planned programme is; Sonata for Cello and Piano No.1 in F, Op 5/1 by Beethoven; Suite Italienne by Stravinsky and Sonata for Piano and Cello in G Minor, Op 19 by Rachmaninov.

Blues and Soul: the Robert Cray Band will be performing at the Royal Hall, Ripon Road on Saturday, March 2 start time 7.30pm. A winner of five Grammies Robert Cray has been a popular blues and soul singer for over 30 years, and is at present in the UK promoting a brand new album titled Nothin’ But Love which is his 16th studio album. Fashion Without Ration-A Look At The 1950s; the Mercer Art Gallery, Swan Road is putting on a handling session with Harrogate Museums’ Exhibition and collections assistant, Nicola Dyke who will encourage reminiscing as those attending take a look at textiles and household objects at the museum. The cost is £5 which also includes admission to the Royal Pump Room Museum on the day. A 2pm start on Thursday, March 7 and booking on 01423 556188 or e mail museums@harrogate.gov.uk.

St Luke’s Church: on Sunday,March 3 at 10.30am Holy Communion will be celebrated at St Luke’s Church, Franklin Square off Kings Road.
