Christmas concert: to be held Wednesday, December 5 at 7pm for 7.30pm at Ripon Landrover, Hutton Bank, Ripon. Tel 01765-646464. The Christmas concert will feature festive music by Lofthouse and Middlesmoor Sliver Band. Adults £10, teenagers £5 and accompanied children free. Buffet supper included. Proceeds in aid of parish churches of Bishop Thornton, Burnt Yates, Markington, Ripley and South Stainley.

Shopping evening: to be held on Wednesday, November 28 7-9pm at Bishop Thornton Primary School.

Parish Christmas fair: to be held on Sunday, December 2 St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Bishop Thornton after 10am Sunday Mass.

Christmas fair: at Markington Village Hall on Saturday, December 8 from 10.15am-noon. Entry £1 including refreshments

Church Services: St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bishop Thornton 6pm Saturday Vigil Mass, Sunday Mass 10am, Weekday Masses 9.30am Holyday Mass announced in Church.
