Bilton and Woodfield Community Library: congratulations to all concerned on the highly commended award for organisation of the year announced at the recent Volunteer Oscars. Last year at this time all but the hardy had given up on Bilton Library. North Yorkshire County Council said it was going to close and a lot of people thought it would, but that did not happen. The NYCC establishment was replaced by Bilton and Woodfield Community Library, a registered charity run and largely financed by local volunteers and now open longer hours than when under the direct management of the council. If so much can be achieved in such a short time the future must look good. To find out more telephone 01423 508771 or email email@example.com
